About the Role

This role provides technical guidance and maintains the availability, capacity, and security of IT services at the Bank through the design, maintenance and management of core IT infrastructure. Due to growth, we are looking to appoint a hands-on Senior Systems Administrator who will report to the Chief Information Officer, and who will coach and mentor our IT Helpdesk Administrator. This is an opportunity to enjoy a large variety of work as part of a close-knit, experienced IT team.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver high-quality, consistent infrastructure and third-level support, and participate in the successful delivery of IT infrastructure projects through the application of specialist technical skills; 
  • Contribute to the development of robust IT services by providing specialist technical advice and recommendations regarding the Bank's ICT infrastructure environment (managed both internally and with 3rd party outsourcing vendors);
  • Produce technical documentation including architecture documents, work instructions, test plans, and administration guides;
  • Assist in call overflow from the IT service desk;
  • Design, configure, administer, and support a range of infrastructure and technology services and assets, such as:
    • Microsoft core services, including System Center, Windows Server (2008-2014), Exchange, Active Directory, and SQL server (2008-2014);
    • Citrix XenApp;
    • Server hardware, SANs, computing facilities, network devices and telephony infrastructure including mobility.


About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent;
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role;
  • Extensive experience managing core Microsoft infrastructure including Hyper V 2012, Windows Servers, Exchange, SQL server 2016, SAN, and IIS;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call support;
  • Experience managing and supporting Citrix XenApp and NetScaler application delivery services;
  • Great interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a close knit team;
  • Strong sense of initiative, ability to self-start and interest in owning their own projects.
  • The following skills are considered highly desirable, but not essential:
  • Service management certification (ITIL foundation, COBiT foundation, ISO20000 Foundation) or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge, and skills;
  • Relevant technical certification: MCSE / MCSA Certification;
  • Azure / AWS Cloud knowledge.
